Results for DVO EM League Event, Calke Park, 27/01/2013

Our thanks to competitors who handed in green or blue maps when it looked as if we would run out.  If you would like a replacement map please email a postal address to Mike.Godfree@btinternet.com.

There have been several complaints that some competitors did not follow the simple local rules for this event which were

DO NOT CLIMB WALLS AND FENCES. USE CROSSING POINTS. These instructions were printed on the maps and Control Descriptions. They were also reinforced by notices at the Start and verbally by the Start Officials. By ignoring these instructions some competitors gained very obvious (see Result Splits) advantages.

We will not be changing the results, but are very disappointed that what was a well attended, enjoyable event has been marred by these dishonest competitors. We hope that they feel suitably ashamed. Perhaps they might consider, even at this late stage, making them selves non-competitive.

Organiser’s Comments

What a fabulous day! After all the weather we seem to have had recently how nice it was to have a bright, fresh and dry day for running. All the competitors I saw return to download were muddy from the ankles down but still smiling and rosy cheeked. All had enjoyed their runs. Organising an Event like this is made easy by the untiring work of the various team leaders and their teams so may I take this opportunity to thank you all. Special thanks must also go to Rex for his careful and interesting planning and to Bob Haskins, the controller. Both were a pleasure to work with and a great help and a support to a still relatively ‘green’ organiser like me!
